Digital printing is widely used to produce business cards and compliment slips, if A4 letterheads are produced digitally however, then the user must be aware that the image may left from the paper or be copied when folded if the letterehead is put through a laser printer. This problem does not arise if the user prints using an inkjet printer. So careful consideration should be given to the method of production of letterheads bearing in mind their use after printing.

Single sheet stationery may be used in inkjet printers, laser printers, impact printers (dot matrix), typewriters or even, handwritten. The choice of paper therefore is dependant on the application. Other considerations are the weight and quaility of paper.
